Griz Cat Hoops: Live from The Zoo

Up to this point, my coverage of the Griz-Cat basketball game has been nothing short of God-awfully wretched. One entry, that's it. It's been an interesting week and I hope to do as Lloyd did and TOTALLY redeem myself.
For those who get the reference, here's the 70 mpg moped that will be my Montana Grizzlies/Montana State Bobcats coverage: I will be providing live comments and images from the game.
Now, that won't be done right here on the Grizzoulian, but on other pages done by me. For live images taken from the student section go to flickr.com/grizzoulian. For my short comments on whatever's going on, go to twitter.com/colinokeefe.
Also, the game's on KPAX. Starts at seven.
Colin, nice job on the flicker and twitter. Very interesting.
Great game Strait.
Exceptional play Sharp.
Phenomenal passing and shooting Martin.
Mister assist Ceylon.
Good game Stauds.
Great win team!
It was nice to Sharp step in big time for the injured Qvale. I was kind of scared at first with Qvale missing. Without Qvale, there was no actual "big" on the floor for either side.
Sharp and Strait had a very good game against other small, "bigs". I'm glad Sharp got to ,"make his bones" as a big, against guys his own size. I'm hoping it will give him the confidence he will need when he has to go up against real bigs.
It was also very nice to see Tinkle allow Martin to play ball the way guards should play. Tinkle didn't even bench Martin for taking and making GOOD SHOTS, even when the good openings were there early in the shot clock. A good guard needs the confidence and the guts to take the open shot whenever it is there. Maybe Tinkle is finally starting to see that Martin is definitely our best guard, point or shooting, of that there is no doubt.
CET and Stauds did good too. VERY GOOD shooting Stauds on your 3 for 5 from three point land. Staud's long range shooting was even close to
our 3point Ace , Martin, who went 4 for 5 from beyond the arc. CET needs more work on his shooting, but he was GREAT on assists.
Anyway,
GREAT WIN over the CATS
--------GO GRIZ---------
"I think that outside shooting is something this team needs to do," said Martin. "A lot of teams are focused on our plays. But guys like myself, Cam Rundles, Ryan Staudacher, Jordan Hasquet and now Ceylon Elgin-Taylor can step outside the arc and spread it out a little bit. If we do, it will open things up a little bit."

AMEN, I couldn't have said it better!
After proving that works against the Cats, let's hope the decision makers continue allowing that style of play, ESPECIALLY against up coming big teams.
With the marksmen the Griz have, they should take the open 3 WHENEVER IT'S OPEN, no matter what the shot clock says.
