This is what a non-conference schedule should look like
Last season, the Griz were very over-matched in their semifinal loss to UMass. From what I saw, the score was much closer than what was happening on the field. Coming off that loss, the Griz go into an extremely weak non-conference schedule. I don't think our AD schedules this far in advance but take a look at some of the team coming down the pipe for the Minutemen.

It's also interesting that while our opponents are playing teams like Michigan and BC, we play Ft. Lewis and Southern Utah. I understand we played Iowa last year and got paid well to do so, but that doesn't mean we should get a year off from decent competition.

No. The UMASS game was a close as the score indicated. The defense bent, bent some more and then stopped 'em DEAD COLD. Their defense was just as good.
Can I point you toward the stats for this game.? First downs: 23-12 UMass. Rushing yards: 226-83, UMass. Passing yards: 234-167, UMass. They out-gained us by 210 yards. We were completely overmatched and dominated. The Griz were very lucky to be one accurate pass away from the win.
The other two OOC opponents for UMass in 2007 are Holy Cross (from Worcester, MA) they were 7-4 in the Patriot League and @Colgate. The Colgate game ends a four year contract with the Raiders.
There will be a BCS/I-A game in 2010, but all the athletic dept will say is that they are in negotiations with several I-A teams...
