With all the rumors about the top D-I schools to fill the open slot, what a disappointment to land Albany. I guess the positives are (1) we should win it, (2) we can measure ourselves against east coast competition early in the season, and (3) like Colin alluded to, we'll make some home-game revenue--but probably nothing in the six-figure range like playing an Iowa or A&M. Anyway, the schedule looks pretty cupcake, with plenty of home games and pretty easy non-conference.

I don't think Albany is going to give us an idea of east coast strength. Teams like New Hampshire, Umass and Appalachian St are all far better than Albany. I know App St is opening its season at Michigan and Umass at BC. Watching those games would prob give us a better idea about UM's competition back east

Yeah i definitely agree. I wish we would play a non-conference against Appy State or another playoff team. Albany was decent last year (7-4), but they won't be our top competition in the playoffs.

Don't go to sleep on the Great Danes.

Delaware did and Albany held them to 270 total yards for a 17-10 win.

Hen fans are still lamenting the loss.

Best wishes in 2007!
